GolfStar expands with additional golf facility in western Sweden

GolfStar is expanding its course cluster in western Sweden with another facility – Lunna Golf (formerly Ingetorp) – for the start of the 2025 season, where GolfStar members will be able to play several courses with a single membership.

GolfStar’s expansion in western Sweden continues and follows the growth plan decided on in Q1 2024, where a total of 94 facilities were analyzed and about 10 primary facilities were selected for concrete discussions.

Great interest after the acquisition of Stannum

Since the acquisition of Stannum Golf in Gråbo announced in November 2024, several golf course owners in the west have expressed interest in joining the GolfStars cluster and golf ecosystem where several of the challenges faced by golf course owners are solved. This applies to everything from efficient green space production, better member/customer offer, investment opportunities in courses and properties, competence/resource access, pro/educational services, large-scale purchasing processes, etc. Insightful course owners understand the importance of the industry changing and that operating through a professional player like GolfStar provides the opportunity to focus on the core mission, which applies to both member-owned golf clubs and private course owners.

– The response and interest from the market in western Sweden has been beyond expectations. We have had several concrete discussions following the Stannum deal where our plans were publicly announced. We are now building a local cluster in Gothenburg and the surrounding area with selected facilities and look forward to offering our customers and members access to another course in the form of Lunna Golf. Lunna has an exceptionally good location, 30 minutes from Gothenburg, on the E6 just north of Kungälv and with an interesting development plan for the local area. The initial focus at GolfStar Lunna is to get the course and driving range up and running by 2025 and to be able to offer a simpler service offering of food and drink. With GolfStar’s proven concept for operation, a golf facility is lifted, the experience for the golfer is enhanced and the local area is refined. We look forward to the collaboration with Stenfastigheter and that more golfers now have the opportunity to consume golf in a modern way,” says Nicklas Raask, CEO of Caddies Europe and owner of GolfStar.

Lunna Golf and Ingetorp

Ingetorp is an area north of Kungälv that beautifully rests in the valley between hilly heights, open land and oak forests. In this place, Stenfastigheter wants to realize the dream of a new housing near the station – at the edge of Ingetorpsjön, by a meadow and among the oaks on one of the heights. Here, homes can be adapted to different lifestyles. Idea-based construction, sustainable solar energy and mobility are combined with nature, a rich outdoor life and with a fine golf course in the form of Lunna. The land area owned by Stenfastigheter since 2015 is a total of about 140 hectares, of which the golf course makes up about a third of the area.

– We are a long-term property owner with ambitious future plans for the entire Ingetorp area. The Lunna Golf facility is an important piece of the puzzle in these plans. We are convinced that the collaboration with GolfStar will be very successful and look forward to developing the area together,” says Rickard Borendal, CEO of Stenfastigheter and landowner of Ingetorp/Lunna Golf.
